We’re looking forward to introducing you to Erica Odom. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Erica, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask:
What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
This is a difficult question because I value all three qualities, but I would choose integrity. Nothing speaks louder than a person who is honest and consistently lives by strong morals and values. True character is revealed through the choices we make — especially when no one is watching. My business, Odom Investments & Property Management, is built on integrity, and I make sure it’s upheld in everything we do. I believe this commitment has been a major factor in our continued growth and success.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Erica M. Odom, owner and founder of Odom Investments & Property Management, proudly serving since 2018. I wear many hats—as a real estate investor, success coach, published author, licensed social worker, and radio personality—but at the core of everything I do is a passion for people, property, and purpose.
Odom Investments & Property Management specializes in full-service property management for investors who want the benefits of ownership without the day-to-day responsibilities of being a landlord. As investors ourselves, we bring firsthand experience to every property we manage. Our portfolio includes buy-and-hold investments, fix-and-flips, and residential acquisitions, giving us a well-rounded and practical approach to real estate.
I confidently say that tenants won’t find another management team as dedicated, responsive, and results-driven as ours. Excellence isn’t optional here—it’s the standard.
In 2025, we launched the Scale Up Journey Internship Program, a unique 12-week experience designed for individuals ages 18–25 to learn the ins and outs of property management, project management, and real estate investing. This program reflects my commitment to mentorship and developing the next generation of industry professionals.
I personally entered real estate at just 19 years old and now bring 19 years of hands-on experience, having bought and sold multiple properties with a current focus on residential real estate.
At Odom Investments, community matters. We are deeply committed to staying engaged, giving back, and creating opportunities that strengthen the neighborhoods we serve—because building communities is just as important as building portfolios.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
As I continue climbing my journey to success, my eyes have been opened to a deeper reality. Success isn’t easy—it brings new levels of pressure and unexpected obstacles. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that as you grow, some of the people closest to you may fall back or stop supporting you, while strangers step in with encouragement. My circle became smaller, and many days it was just me. That’s when I truly understood the cost of success. You have to be okay with not everyone agreeing, not everyone staying, and with people who aren’t aligned with what God has for you falling away.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could tell my younger self—and any young person today—this: start building wealth now. Surround yourself with winners, become financially literate, and live within your means. Ignoring these lessons will cost you years of unnecessary financial struggle.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely! I intentionally keep my professional, business, and personal lives separate, while still showing up as my authentic self every day. There is freedom in being who you truly are—because no one can do it better than you. You’re the expert at being you.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I am building a legacy—the ODOMWAY. When I am gone, I want my work and sacrifices to be remembered. I want it known that this legacy was built for my family, to break the cycles of debt, lack, and unhealthy habits. The ODOMWAY isn’t just a name—it’s a commitment to generational change. It is the blueprint of a true cycle breaker.
